In Ishpeming tonight in the first night of the districts, the Westwood Patriots came to town to give the Negaunee Miners are great run for their money, but lost on a buzzer beater 48-45.
Westwood stormed out of the gate and caught the Miners flatfooted in the first quarter leading 15-8 but the Miners were able to start cutting down the lead and were only down by three at the end of the first half.
Throughout the second half the two teams were trading the lead back and forth. It would take the that last shot to end the hopes of an upset by Westwood.
